Exhibition List

Susan Ruth Cohen is a mixed media artist working primarily on paper. Her works have been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows from Maine to Hawaii. She holds a B.F.A. from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an M.F.A. from S.U.N.Y Buffalo where she concentrated on printmaking. Susan perfected her printmaking skills at The Printmaking Workshop, N.Y.C. where she won a Jerome Foundation award. Fragments of her etchings often make their way into her work as collage elements. Susan has also been the recipient of a New York State Council on the Arts “Workspace” grant, as well as several other awards. As an art educator and artist-in-residence, she has worked with large numbers of children, creating and developing art programs in schools and community centers. In her works on paper, Susan employs vibrant colors and spontaneous imagery to create a world that is both playful and thought provoking. She has created a picture book that reflects her poetic imagery.
